Peter Karlsson: Wolves speedway legend brings curtain down on career
Wolves speedway legend Peter Karlsson has brought his glittering career to an end after almost three decades.
Karlsson bid a fond farewell to fans at a meeting at Monmore in March but continued racing in his home country Sweden.
But now he has decided to retire after almost 30 years as a professional rider after collecting a host of international and domestic honours.
Parrys International Wolves owner Chris Van Straaten said: “Peter is a special character and will always be a legend at Wolverhampton.
“I would like to see him remain involved in the sport in some way and there is no doubt in my mind if he was based in the UK we would find some way to make use of his talents.”
