Freya Anderson named in Commonwealth Games squad
Ellesmere Titans swimmer Freya Anderson is among the first 15 athletes selected to represent England at April's Commonwealth Games in Australia.
Her Titans team-mate Cassie Wild has also been named as part of Scotland's aquatics squad.
Anderson was promoted to the senior British swimming team for the World Championships after winning her debut British title this year. She also became World Junior champion in the 100m freestyle.
Olympic champion Adam Peaty is the headline name in the party, although further swimmers will be selected following December's trials.
Peaty, the world, European and Olympic 100 meters breaststroke gold medallist, will bid to retain the Commonwealth title he won at Glasgow 2014.
Olympic medal winners Siobhan O'Connor and James Guy are also among the 15 swimmers to be the first named England athletes for the Games, which take place on the Gold Coast from April 4 to 13, 2018.
World and Commonwealth gold medallist Ben Proud has been named alongside long-time international Lizzie Simmonds. Simmonds will compete at her third Commonwealth Games, after missing out on selection for the Rio 2016 Olympics and 2017 World Championships in Budapest.
Eleanor Faulkner, Holly Hibbott, Sarah Vasey, Molly Renshaw, Emily Large, Jocelyn Ulyett, Luke Greenbank, Andrew Willis and Max Litchfield are also named.
