Shrewsbury Town striker Tyrese Campbell aiming to push on and help Shrews stay up after landing award
Shrewsbury Town striker Tyrese Campbell is aiming to push on, improve and help Sam Ricketts side avoid relegation following his award of EFL Young player of the month for February.
The 19-year-old, who is currently on loan from Championship side Stoke City, has netted three times for Town in ten appearances, which include two from the substitutes bench.
Campbell, the son of former Premier League forward Kevin, has highlighted his desire to continually improve as he embarks on the finale of his first season as a professional footballer
"I want to push on and keep scoring to help the team stay up," he said.
"This is my first proper season in professional football, so I'm trying to learn as much as I can.
"My short-term goal is to keep the team in the league and then go back to Stoke, have a good summer and see what happens."
The Stoke loanee added that he was happy with his decision to move to the Montgomery Waters Meadow for the rest of this season.
"I thought that the way they played was a team that I wanted to be involved in and I thought I'd do well here."
Campbell has finally received his accolade from February and will be hoping to be involved with Sam Ricketts side as they approach their final five games of the season.
