POLL: Should the football season end?

Football is in lockdown and everyone seems to have a different view as to when – or if – the season should return.

Should the football season end?

Bosses at the Uefa have set deadlines for leagues across Europe to tell them their plans for returns, while some high profile leagues such as Holland’s Eredivisie and France’s Ligue 1 and 2 have already been cancelled.

Indeed Fifa’s top medial chief Michel d’Hooghe said ‘as a doctor’ he would be ‘sceptical’ about continuing leagues amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Instead, the chair of Fifa’s medical committee said: “My proposal is if it is possible, avoid playing competitive football in the coming weeks.

“Try to be prepared for the start of good competition next season.”

So now we want you, the football supporters of the West Midlands, Staffordshire and Shropshire, to give your views on whether the 2019-20 football season should continue – or whether the authorities should call time on a season brought to a halt by the coronavirus pandemic.

Should football go ahead behind closed doors? What should be done for fans who have bought season tickets and are missing out on games they have paid for? Should there still be promotion and relegation?
