Paul Hurst revealed Jordan Shipley is available for Shrewsbury Town's trip to Salford - while they will make a late call on Aaron Pierre.

Shipley has not played for Shrewsbury since he went off in the 2-2 draw at Bolton almost a month ago.

The midfielder injured his Achilles in the 53rd minute of the clash at the Toughseet Community Stadium.

Initially in a boot, it was easy to fear the worst. But Scans revealed the injury was not as bad as first thought, and he has been increasing his recovery ever since.

And Paul Hurst said the former Coventry man, albeit still has some pain at times, could involved tomorrow.

"Jordan Shipley has trained this week," Hurst said. "Had a little bit of discomfort but he has got through it.

"So unless I hear anything different, I'd expect him to be available to us."

Meanwhile, Hurst says they will need to make a late call on Pierre's fitness after he went off in the 36th minute of Town's defeat to Barnsley last week with a hamstring injury.

Speaking after the game the Shrewsbury head coach was unsure of the severity of Pierre's injury.

But he has now confirmed the 31-year-old trained for the first time on Friday and could be involved at the Peninsula Stadium.

"Aaron Pierre did some work separately (on Friday)," he continued.

"We need to find out where he's at, whether he's involved or not. He's the only one."

Hurst also confirmed Josh Kayode is still not ready for a return to competitive action.

Kayode has not played since the 2-1 defeat to Fulham under-21s back in August due to a calf problem and is nearing an end to his rehabilitation.

He said: "JJ has been being on the grass this week, not ready to be involved. But that's the only few lads that I think we're looking at."
