Salop lost for the 11th time in the league this season at the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday as they were comfortably beaten by Burton Albion.
It was Town's fifth consecutive loss across all competitions which has left them at the foot of the League One table.
Shrews were well supported against Burton with a large proportion of fans making the trip to watch their clash against the Brewers.
And Parrish, who is in interim charge, admits it has been hard following the team this season.
"I mean, it's tough, it is tough," he said. "They are the 12th man, they've been there with us all season.
"Not just at the weekend because I'm in charge, they have been there all campaign.
"It's hard because when you're not playing well, the frustrations will show, the frustrations, anger, disappointment will come out, and I get that.
"The players are committed, they are trying their best, sometimes it might not be good enough, and sometimes the quality that we need to show has to be better, in and out of possession.
"As I say, it was summed up by the two goals on Saturday, we can't concede goals like that."I'm sure it will turn, but again, for me, start with a clean sheet.
"We've got to be ending the game nil, if you end the game nil, you've got half a chance, you're coming away with a point, or we might nick a goal, with a bit of magic, with a bit of quality."
"At times we got the ball forward, got the ball in the box, but we need to be ruthless and kill teams off."
Meanwhile, a poll by the Shropshire Star revealed 63 per cent of supporters want Gareth Ainsworth to be their new boss.
Almost 700 Shrewsbury fans voted, and Ainsworth, who most recently was in charge of Queens Park Rangers, came out on top.
The 51-year-old spent more than 10 years as manager of Wycombe Wanderers, taking them from League Two all the way to the Championship.
But he left The Chairboys in February 2023 to take over Championship club QPR - a team he played for more than 100 times.
The poll revealed that Andy Mangan, currently an assistant coach at Stockport and has had recent ties with Real Madrid, received 22 per cent of the votes.
While Dino Maarmria, formerly of Burton, received 8 per cent of the vote. The Shropshire Star understands all three of them are in the mix for the vacancy.
Town have an EFL Trophy match against Walsall on Tuesday evening, but they have no game at the weekend as their League One game against Reading, initially scheduled for Saturday, has been postponed due to the international call-ups.
Shrewsbury are expected to confirm a new head coach this week which would give a new man in charge some time to prepare for the next league clash.
They welcome high-flying Birmingham City to the Croud Meadow for another lunchtime clash in just under two weeks time.
