Neves was in the stands at Molineux on Saturday to watch Wolves' win over Southampton, in his first visit back to the club since making his £47million move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal in June 2023.

Wolves fans chanted Neves' name throughout the game, while the former midfielder took to the pitch at half-time.

O'Neil, while jokingly hinting at a Wolves return for the Portuguese international, did admit he wished the player was not sold before he took over as head coach.
