The 51-year-old was appointed as Paul Hurst's replacement last week and is set to take charge of his first game in Shropshire this weekend when they welcome Birmingham City to the Croud Meadow.

It is Ainsworth's first job in management since he left Queens Park Rangers more than a year ago.

The head coach has three children, and while he does not want to move them just yet, he will be getting somewhere to live in Shrewsbury.

"I will be getting a place that I will be able to call my home in Shrewsbury," Ainsworth said. "But also, I've got kids at GCSE age and A-level age as well, so it's tough at the moment for me to move those.

"But don't worry. I am not up and down that motorway."
