Danny Redmond admitted The New Saints' narrow defeat to Djurgarden was laced with disappointment.
The Saints were beaten by a first half goal that looks to have all but ended their chances of advancing to the next round of the competition.
However, the Oswestry based side did give a good account of themselves but Redmond believes on another night it could have been a different story.
The Saints skipper said: "You know conceding just before half time is never nice, but the lads showed great togetherness in the game.
"We were disappointed we didn't create enough with the type of players we have got.
"We know what we can do but I think the lads worked hard they stuck in there and we can take the positives from it.
"We did have chances in the game but they are a top side with great players. But we have quality going forward and we know we can hurt teams, so that has probably left us a bit disappointed tonight really.
"We know we can't be open in games at the start, we will get picked off and be two or three down against real quality sides, but we have nothing to lose now and we want to do the best we can to quality, and that means winning games."
