That is according to Micky Moore, who has reiterated that conversations regarding moves in the January transfer window have already begun.

Ainsworth's reign at the Croud Meadow got off to a perfect start on Saturday - as they downed promotion favourites Birmingham City.

Since arriving in Shropshire, the former Wycombe and QPR boss has explained how January business is very much dependant on what his players produce between now and January 1.

Speaking in an open letter to supporters, director of football, Moore, has explained that having Ainsworth, who took Wycombe from the bottom of League Two to the Championship, could give Salop an upper hand in any possible deals.

He said: "Gareth has spoken at length about how - every week - he expects his players to leave everything out on the field.

"He wants hard work, he wants commitment, and he wants to make sure no player comes away from a game with any regrets.

"Every one of the players performed in that manner on Saturday. And I know Gareth will be demanding the same every week.

"In terms of additions, the January window is fast approaching.

"Between now and the New Year, Gareth will continue to make assessments on the players.

"We have already had conversations about what January will look like in terms of new recruits.

"It can be a very difficult month to get players in. But I’m sure having Gareth as a head coach will help and enhance our chances of getting deals over the line."

Moore also addressed the club's young talent, after they progressed to the next round of the FA Youth Cup, thanks to a 9-0 win over Coalville.

A number of Salop's young players are out on loan - and Moore believes if they continue to show signs of progression they could be knocking on the first team door before the end of the campaign.

He added: "There were lots of standout performers that night who are showing good progress.

"Hopefully, if they keep progressing, we might see one or two in our first team before the end of the season."
