Kevin Wilkin pleased with the way Telford managed victory at Leiston
AFC Telford United boss Kevin Wilkin was pleased with how his side managed the second half of their victory against Leiston.
Goals in the first 45 minutes from Matty Stenson and Ricardo Dinanga helped the Bucks to a comfortable victory in Suffolk.
The result means Telford have 10 wins from their first 17 games of the season and Wilkin was pleased with the way his side got over the line despite seeing less of the ball at the weekend.
“I think you have to understand they are an open, expansive side and have good players in that side that will ask questions," Wilkin said. "It is important that we recognise and understand that, certainly away from home.
"You’re not going to have the game and the whole ninety minutes to yourself. In the second period, for as much of the ball as Leiston had, I still think their goalkeeper was the busier of the two.
"When we played on the counter, we got into some really good areas and forced them into saves, which is pleasing again.”
