Swimming awards handed out at Northgate presentation
Jack Cook won the award for the Best Performance at the Annual Gala at Northgate Swimming Club’s annual awards evening.
More than 170 people attended the event at Bridgnorth Rugby Club, where the achievements and effort of the club’s swimmers were celebrated.
Emily Gurr and Daisy Berry shared the Best Performance at the County Championship award, Rory Yarnley won the Best Performance at the Diddy Gala and Harry Wain was awarded the Coaches’ Cup, for being the most-improved senior swimmer.
Club chairman Rich Homer said the evening ‘inspired swimmers to strive for excellence in their training and performances moving forward'.
He added: “2024 has been a remarkable year and we are keen to continue to build on the many successes in 2025. Thank you to everyone who has supported the club in recent times.”
The evening saw Homer take over as chair from Steve Smith, while Katie Hunt was appointed vice-chair.
Izzy Davies, Lois Marshall and Sion Williams earned the Chairman’s Cup for their contributions to the club, while Freddie Beaman, Spencer Beaman and Harry Evans were selected for the Ros Lyle Trophy by club coaches.
Other swimmers were awarded medals for their recent efforts in Nuneaton League competitions during the evening.
