Salop have one month to make any alterations to their squad, and that starts on Wednesday when clubs are allowed to start trading again.
Shrewsbury are six points adrift at the bottom of the League One table, and their chances of survival will be helped greatly by bringing reinforcements early in the window.
But the Salop head coach Ainsworth has warned it may not be possible for them to do that.
"Honestly, that's a question I can't answer," he said when asked by the Shropshire Star if things are likely to happen early in the month. "We have our targets.
