It was announced on Monday, perhaps unsurprisingly, that Charles Sagoe Jr has returned to his parent club Arsenal after having his loan spell in Shropshire cut short.
The 20-year-old's time at the Croud Meadow never really got going after making just five starts after being signed in the summer.
Gareth Ainsworth has overseen nine League One matches since arriving at the end of November, and Sagoe Jr appeared on just three occasions.
For all parties, it was probably for the best to cut ties and move on.
Ainsworth had said after the game against Blackpool on New Year's Day, which Shrewsbury drew 1-1, there was 'more than likely' to be changes to the loanees.
He has also admitted he is not the biggest fan of loan deals.
