January always looked like a tough month for Salop with the league form of their opposition, and that has been compounded by seeing the bosses of Huddersfield and Wrexham up for the award.

Michael Duff, who comes to Shropshire with his Huddersfield side on Saturday, saw his team go unbeaten through December - winning four matches and drawing twice.

The Terriers are in great form having not lost in the League since defeat to Birmingham City back at the start of October. It is the second successive month Duff has been nominated.

Similarly, Phil Parkinson has been put forward after his Wrexham side collected 14 points in December, partly thanks to late wins against Barnsley, Blackpool and Wigan Athletic.

Town welcome both bosses and their teams to the Croud Meadow in the next 10 days - the winner will be announced on Friday.

It means that Town will have played three of the division's in-form sides in the last three fixtures after they lost 1-0 to Richie Wellens' Leyton Orient on Saturday. He too has been nominated.
