Shropshire CCC finalise venues for this year’s National Counties Cricket Association fixtures
Shropshire County Cricket Club have finalised home venues to stage their National Counties Cricket Association fixtures this year.
Bridgnorth, Shifnal, Shrewsbury, St George’s, Wem and Whitchurch will all host Shropshire matches during the 2025 NCCA season.
The venues to stage the county’s away games have also been confirmed as Shropshire look forward to a busy summer of cricket.
The county will open the new season with group matches in the 50-over NCCA Trophy during April and May.
That will be followed by group games in the NCCA Twenty20 Cup ahead of four three-day fixtures in the NCCA Championship.
Shropshire’s opening match of the 2025 season will be against Herefordshire at Eastnor in the NCCA Trophy on Sunday, April 27.
Home matches in Group 2 will follow against Norfolk at Shrewsbury on May 4 and Staffordshire at Shifnal a week later, before a trip to Mildenhall to face Suffolk on May 18.
The Twenty20 Cup will feature two T20 games on each match day, with a home fixture against Cheshire at Wem on Sunday, May 25 starting proceedings for Shropshire in the shorter format.
Group 1 trips to Burslem to play Staffordshire and a long journey to the north east to face Northumberland at South Northumberland CC will come next, either side of a home fixture with Cumbria at St George’s in Telford on June 15.
Shropshire will open their NCCA Championship Western Division Two season with a three-day game against Cheshire at Whitchurch between July 20-22.
The away matches in the Championship will be against Dorset at Wimborne from July 27-29 and Wales at St Asaph from August 31 to September 2, with a home game against Wiltshire at Bridgnorth in between from August 17-19.
