The youngster, who was signed on a season-long loan deal in the summer by former boss Paul Hurst, becomes the second player to return to their parent club after Charles Sagoe Jr departed at the beginning of the week.
Kayode’s spell in Shropshire was hampered by a calf injury - which ruled him out for almost four months.
In the end, he made just seven appearances for Salop across all competitions scoring one goal in their Carabao Cup game against Notts County back in August.
He picked up his injury after the EFL Trophy loss to Fulham under-21s and did not play again for Shrewsbury until the 1-1 draw against Northampton at the end of December.
The 24-year-old made just one start in a League One match and that was in Town's 1-1 draw at Blackpool on New Year's Day.
Last season, Kayode was on loan at Carlisle - but that was hampered by injuries - with him making just four appearances.
The Town boss Gareth Ainsworth has said on multiple occasions that there will be ins and outs this month.
At the moment, there has only been movement away from the Croud Meadow.
Sagoe Jr returned to Arsenal, while Jordan Rossiter effectively left Town on Friday as moved to Oldham on loan for the remainder of the season.
Rossiter only had a one-year deal in Shropshire, so it is likely he has played his last game for the club.
