Ex-Shrewsbury boss appointed Solihull Moors head coach
Former Shrewsbury Town boss Matt Taylor has been appointed as Solihull Moors head coach.
Taylor, who took charge of Salop in the summer of 2023, was managing Wealdstone in the National League, but he has now swapped for the Moors in the same division.
Taylor was appointed as Shrews boss by director of football Micky Moore after an extensive search following Steve Cotterill's departure from Shropshire.
He left Town in January 2024 - when he was replaced by Paul Hurst - after a run of seven defeats in eight matches.
Shot shy Salop had managed to score just 18 goals in the 28 league games he took charge of - but they were never in the bottom four.
They eventually survived on the penultimate day of the League One campaign.
Taylor leaves Wealdstone 21st in the National League to join Solihull, who are seventh having taken 41 points from their 27 games.
Speaking after his appointment, Taylor said: "I’d like to thank the board for this opportunity. It’s a great club with big plans and ambitions, on and off the pitch, and I am really looking forward to playing my part in that.
“I have been made to feel at home straight away, and I am absolutely determined to repay the trust that has been placed in me by building a successful team playing good football to entertain the fans."
