Throughout the January window, 50 per cent of the loan players Salop signed in the summer have left Shropshire.

Charles Sagoe Jr returned to north London to re-join Arsenal and Josh Kayode, who had an injury-hit spell at the Croud Meadow due to a persistent calf problem, returned to Town's League One rivals Rotherham.

Tommi O'Reilly was the most recent loan departure. He left Salop just hours before the match against Wrexham kicked off last week, after being recalled by Aston Villa. He immediately joined MK Dons for the rest of the campaign.

The Shropshire Star revealed on Tuesday that Leo Castledine was set to stay with the club for the remainder of the season, with Chelsea understood to be happy with the game time he is getting in Shropshire.

And speaking before Town's trip to Charlton this weekend, Ainsworth was asked the question about Castledine and the other two remaining loanees, Josh Feeney and Funso Ojo, who he admitted he wants to keep at the club.

"They were loaned for the season with recalls in January and details of how that happens," the Town boss said. "At the moment, I'm really happy with all three.

"I think all three had terrific games against Wrexham. I'd be stupid to start saying, let's change them.

"They've been here with me eight weeks now and they know the way I play, they know the way I train, they know what I expect and that's what I need.

"I know that once everyone's on board with the way I want things done, the way that we play, the way that we can achieve, you'll see some fantastic results.

"But right now, right here, none of those will be leaving this club if it was down to me.

"Obviously, other clubs are involved and everything but I want them all there. I think they have all totally bought into this fight.

"I think Josh (Feeney) has been fantastic since he came back into the side, improving game by game. Leo (Castledine), is just a competitor in there. As is Funs (Funso Ojo) and when Funs gets onto that ball, he has that little bit of quality to his game.

"But they're all fighting and scrapping and battling. They are three great players to have in your squad."

Salop head to the capital on Saturday looking to get revenge after the 1-0 defeat they suffered against Charlton in Shropshire earlier in the season.

There could be debuts for three of Town's new arrivals too. Callum Stewart was in the squad for the cross-border derby last week but he did not get onto the pitch.

Dom Gape and Ricardo Dinanga could also be in the squad for the first time in south London as they secured their switches to Shrewsbury.
