Vitor Pereira's arrival before Christmas sparked back-to-back wins against relegation rivals Leicester and a special victory at home against Manchester United, before earning a comeback point at Spurs to end 2024 unbeaten in his opening three games.
Wolves then opened 2025 with a 3-0 defeat at Molineux to Nottingham Forest, before an FA Cup win at Championship side Bristol City was followed by a 3-0 defeat at Newcastle and Monday's 3-1 loss at Chelsea.
The manner of the three consecutive league defeats, the nine goals conceded and struggles to convert their own chances leaves Wolves fans concerned as the team return home for the first time since January 6.
Unfortunately for Pereira, the fixtures do not get much easier. Arsenal arrive in the Black Country in somewhat indifferent form, by their standards, but will still be huge favourites to return to the capital with three points.
The following week Wolves welcome Villa to Molineux, before a trip to league leaders Liverpool, either side of an FA Cup encounter with Blackburn.
Even when Wolves do get through this tough set of fixtures, the 'easier on paper' clashes that follow come against Bournemouth and Fulham, which are certainly not straightforward.
