The New Saints striker sold to Coleraine for undisclosed fee
Striker Declan McManus has left The New Saints to sign for Coleraine in Northern Ireland for an undisclosed fee.
McManus, 30, joined Saints from Scottish club Dunfermline Athletic in June 2021 and was a consistent goalscorer for the JD Cymru Premier side.
He helped the Park Hall club lift six trophies during his time with TNS and won the Golden Boot as the league’s leading goalscorer in successive seasons.
McManus, a former Scotland under-21 international, was part of the TNS side which qualified for the league phase of the Uefa Conference League for the first time this season.He scored a penalty in the 2-0 victory over Astana from Kazakhstan at Shrewsbury Town’s Croud Meadow last October.
Coleraine head coach Dean Shiels told the club’s website: “He’s a player I know well and we played together at Dunfermline.
“I know his qualities and what he can offer. First of all, he’s a good person, he’s a good lad off the pitch, has a great attitude and he will fit in well with the group.“Secondly, he’s a good player and his goalscoring record in the last few years have been unbelievable
.“If we are going to be successful moving forward, we need a big squad and competition for places.“Declan is a pure goalscorer and they are worth their weight in gold.”
