Wem hit by points loss

Wem USC have been hit by a double whammy in the Furrows Shropshire Premier Bowls League – a heavy defeat and a points deduction.

The north Shropshire side were beaten 11-3 at Ford in a re-arranged game last night.

But that did little to repair the damage of a two-point deduction for being one player short in last Friday's 9-5 loss at Bylet.

Wem remain second from bottom in the table, five points clear of basement boys Bylet.
