Shropshire Ladies reach the semi-finals
Shropshire will face South Yorkshire in the Senior County Ladies Bowling Championship semi-finals on August 17.
They topped their group with an impressive victory against Burton & District.
The reigning county champions finished first in Section Two after a 485-336 victory, which saw them triumph by 77 in the home leg and 72 in the away leg.
St Georges' Katie Suggett was Shropshire's best winner in the former, triumphing to five while Clair Barker, from Meole Brace, went one better in the away leg, winning 21-4.
Shropshire have won all four of their group games in the competition and team spokesman Mabel Finnigan said: "Playing any of the Yorkshire teams is difficult but I think the team fancies their chances against anybody at the moment."
North Shropshire missed out on the last four of the competition despite beating Mid Cheshire 446-397 on Sunday.
That win sees them finish second in Section Two which eliminates them from the county championships.
But they remain in the frame for some silverware having qualified for the Mavis Dearden Supplementary County Championship, which also will be played on August 17.
