St Georges take back top spot with a win

Stand-in skipper Ian Gaut hailed 'clinical' St Georges as victory over Chester Road saw them leapfrog their rival to the top of the Shropshire Premier League.

Gaut said: "It was another clinical home performance with a superb start from the first four and a good night's work."

Glyn Picknell was the home side's best winner to nine with Andy Moss MVP for the Roaders.

Bayley extended Bylet's winless run with a 9-5 away victory. Scott Harries was best winner and MVP for the home side. Scott Simpson was Bayley's star man.

Bottom club Hadley USC closed the gap on Bylet with a big 12-2 win over Wem USC.

Captain Rob Burroughs said: "I am delighted with the result, it was due to come together one night and it did!

"We played well as a team despite the poor weather and got a result which gets us back into the pack."

Will Tarrell was the best winner for Meole Brace as they defeated champions Newport 10-4.

Bowring skipper Rich Lawson was delighted with his side's efforts as they went down 8-6 at Castlefields.

He said: "After the slightly disappointing result against Meole, to come away with six against a very good Castlefields side shows how we can bounce back.

"There were some great performances from the lads."

Wrockwardine Wood continued their revival, beating Burway 11-3.

Skipper Tom Langford said: "The Staffordshire lads put in an awesome performance and it could possibly have been 13-1."
