King’s men were 8-4 (144-131) winners in the Summit League Feeder B clash on Monday night. Sam Millward was MVP for his 21-8 success against Stephen Danks.

“Last year we only had one winner there so to come away with a victory was really good,” said King.

“I wasn’t really expecting to get a win but it was a good all-round team performance.”

King believes Hadley have a chance of competing for promotion this season.

“We made some good signings and we are up there in with a chance,” he added.

“There is more strength in depth and I have got a couple of people sat on the sidelines who can’t get a game who are very good players.”

Defending Premier League champions St Georges suffered a surprise home defeat to Dudley Dell.

Both teams had four winners but it was the visitors who claimed the aggregate 144-133 for an 8-4 victory.

Castlefields were edged out in a tightly-fought contest at Penn.

Callum Wraight, who beat Gary Cooper 21-10, was MVP and one of three Castlefields winners in a 7-3 (147-139) defeat.

Wrockwardine Wood lost at home to Summit Feeder A leaders Three Magpies 9-3 (147-132).

Sir John Bayley overcame Kings Norton 8-2 (155-106) in Division Two.
