Having missed out on qualifying for the main knockout stages, they successfully defended the consolation crown won last year by beating the C team of hosts Wirral by a huge margin in the final.

In fact, they had all five winners in a 105 chalks to 46 success on Sunday with skipper Jake Bailey, recent Whitchurch League Under-18 Merit winner Josh Warner, Edward Proudlove, Alex Salamino and Ben Hinton all winning.

“Well done lads – you all played superbly to win and we are extremely proud of you,” said delighted North Shropshire Parks chairman Phil Scott.

“The North Shropshire B team – all debutants – also all played well against stronger opposition in their round robin group, just missing out on qualifying.

“So well done to all players concerned.”
