Third-placed Newport host the team one place and seven points better off in the Salop Leisure Shropshire Premier League.

And with table-topping Castlefields already 10 points clear and visiting bottom club Ifton, they could see their advantage extend further.

“We may not want to do them a favour but we certainly can,” admitted Newport skipper Mick Jones, who will be without Phil Emery and Kevin Keary.

“I still think Castlefields will win it and Bayley will come second. If we can get third that would be a bonus. We are on a great run of form and have done better than we expected.”

Bayley vice-skipper Rob Burroughs admitted: “Newport away is a totally different prospect now than it was at the start of the season when we beat them at home.

“We would love to repeat the win from last season, and we could if we all click, but realistically a good away haul is what we would like just to keep up with Castlefields.”

Elsewhere, Meole Brace face a tough trip to Hanwood and Wem USC take on St Georges.

Burway play host to Bylet, Chester Road go to Bowring and Hanmer entertain Wrockwardine Wood.
