Oh brother now it's Craig in the box seat!

Ludlow's Craig Morris is in the driving seat for his next professional boxing contest after his brother's business lent him a courtesy car.

Main sponsors Flowfit Hydraulics have been pitching in with his costs, while butchers DW Wall & Son provide him with fresh meat for his diet.

But the Shropshire fighter's pro gym is Wednesbury Boxing Academy in the Black Country, while he also trains at manager Dave Bradley's house in Claverley, writes Craig Birch.

That has left the 23-year-old light middleweight in need of a decent runaround on a regular basis and support with his fuel bills, with older sibling Stefan stepping up to the plate.

He's provided a gleaming Peugeot 206 with his garage service company Morris Autos & Car Sales, on Corve Street in Ludlow, emblazoned across the side of the vehicle.

With that problem sorted, the town's first paid pugilist for over 75 years feels ready to roll over his next opponent at Walsall Town Hall on Saturday's fight night.

He said: "I officially have the best brother! Not only has he given me the use of a courtesy car with my name on, he is also paying my fuel costs to aid my career. I'm very grateful.

"Stefan has always supported me, right through the amateurs to now. He's not really that into the sport, but he loves to come and watch me fight.

"I've got two sisters, as well, but none of my family are huge boxing fans, to be honest. It's just me who has got the bug!"

Morris, who is coached by former Midlands featherweight champion and English title challenger Steve Chinnock, is preparing for pro bout No 2.

The former Ludlow School captain, a carpenter outside of the ting, now tackles Wolverhampton-based Latvian Viktor Drizzlionokovs over four.

Both are southpaws, so Morris may have to change tactics after outpointing former Midlands champion Kevin McCauley in his first outing.

There was great support from his hometown at the same venue for that one in April, with their man confident preparations have gone well again.

He said: "This fight could be a bit awkward, but we've working on a few things that should counteract that. I just can't wait to get in there now.

"I'm not bothered who I box, I never under-estimate anyone and I'll be ready for him when it comes."

Tickets, priced at £30 and £60 ringside, are available from the Town Hall Box Office on 0845 111 2900 and from Craig on 07805 915 087.

Coach travel, costing just £7, has also been arranged with pick up points at Tenbury, Woofferton, Ludlow, Clee Hill and Cleobury Mortimer. For more information, call 07890 844 418.
