It's six of the best for Telford's Simran Kaur
National champion Simran Kaur remains unbeaten after travelling to the South Coast for her latest competitive bout.
The Telford girl, 14, made it 6-0 in the unpaid ranks on a Heart of Portsmouth Boxing Club show last weekend,
The Hadley Learning Community pupil, who represents Merridale in Wolverhampton, made the trip to oppose Paris Williams in the home corner.
Kaur eased to a unanimous points victory to make it six of the best with the vest and headguard, after a breakthrough year for the teenager.
She claimed a 43kg England Schools title four months ago in her first competition bout, again unanimously, over Jackie Birch.
The England Senior Development championships are well underway, but Shropshire's interest in the tournament is already at an end.
Big Russian heavyweight Aleksandr Kravcuk was put forward by Wellington Boxing Academy, as one of five entrants at 91kg in Class A, for fighters with two to 10 bouts experience.
The 22-year-old, who had stopped four out of his five opponents, displayed his power again to deck Aston's Mitchell Dempsey with a left hook in the second of a three-round opening test.
Dempsey survived but was downed unanimously, with the tables turned on Kravcuk in a box-off against eventual West Midlands titlist Antony Woolery, from Richie Carter's Golden Gloves.
Wellington's Jack Pennell was a knockout for the Mill Lane gym, though, with a 30-second win over Elijah Campbell ay 88kg on a Warley club show.
Meanwhile, Ludlow Boxing Club staged a 10-fight show at the town's Racecourse with some great action on the night.
Ludlow's big winner was 'Gorgeous' George Sloan, who took on old rival Kyle Salvo in a short-notice outing at 61kg.
Sloan's hand was raised unanimously after a keenly-contested affair, avenging a loss to Wolverhampton's Salvo the first time around. It landed him the Boxer of the Night award.
Ludlow's Max Weaver made his debut at the start of the evening and, although he was defeated by Wolverhampton's Tyler Downs unanimously at 40kg, took Junior Bout of the Night honours.
And Josh Henny has become the first to box for the Len Woodhall Community Club - formerly Telford & Wrekin - renamed after the late coach. He took part in two skills bouts.
