Both Brydie O'Keefe and Jay Williams turned on the style at the Berwick Pavilion.

The bill featured a number of boxers from Irish club Dealgan ABC, a reciprocal visit after Salopian recently supported their show in Dundalk.

O'Keefe, 15, a pupil at Baschurch's Corbet School, claimed victory by stoppage against Phoebe Hodson, from Stafford's Right Stuff ABC.

And she was joined in the winners' enclosure by 14-year-old Williams, who attends Shrewsbury's Priory School. He recorded a unanimous verdict against James Parker of Wrexham's Llay gym.

Salopian head coach Rob O'Keefe said: "It was a very mature display by Jay. He showed plenty of promise and it was great for Jay to get his first win.

"Brydie's opponent was a step up in class for her but she did very well and it was an impressive performance, against the national cadet champion for her age and weight."

Of the other Salopian ABC boxers, Liam Marston, continues to come up against some of the top juniors in the country.

He lost on a unanimous verdict to Donnington Boxing Club's Midlands champion Ryan Tyrer.

Sam Byrer was on the receiving end of a TKO at the hands of Robert O'Neil from Bristol's Empire ABC towards the end of the opening round.

Georgia O'Keefe saw a split decision go against her in favour of Leah Mann, from Stamford in Lincolnshire.

Salopian youngster Harvey Charlton also made his ring debut, in a skills contest against Sam Buckley from Willenhall in Coventry.

The crowd were treated to 12 bouts, with O'Keefe pleased by the feedback he has received about the show.

He said: "Everybody there seemed to enjoy it. We've built some great relationships with other clubs around the UK and now Ireland and that's pleasing."
