The Telford-based side included Australian-born Braden Surrall in their opening day Premier Division draw against Worfield and their 22-run win over Wem the following weekend.

League rules currently permit only one overseas player per team and Wroxeter currently already had one in their ranks. The move leaves Wroxeter bottom of the Premier Division with 14 points after six games.

League vice-chairman and chairman of disciplinary procedures Gordon Smith said: "They have got deducted 42 points which was all their points they took in those first two games plus a 10 point penalty."

Wood added that both of Wroxeter's opponents in the two games Surrall played in had been awarded additional points.

That's on top of those they originally took from the games, to ensure they both took 22 points, as per league rules.

Surrall has since moved to Birmingham & District Premier League Division One outfit Shifnal. Wroxeter Cricket Club were unavailable for comment.
