Half century helps Reman Services along
Reman Services batsman Matthew Richards scored a half-century to help his side secure a winning draw against St Georges and keep their promotion hopes alive.
Richards was eventually bowled for 66 before the rain interrupted proceedings and denied the hosts what looked like a likely victory.
The Shropshire League Premier Division side currently sit 28 points behind league leaders Worfield with one promotion place up for grabs.
Reman skipper Ed Ashlin said: "Matt batted very well on a green wicket and it was good for him to get some runs, because he hasn't had a good a season as he would have hoped for.
"It was great to get a winning draw, but ideally we wanted to get a win. The game was reduced and we didn't have enough time to bowl them out, but it was good to get the points.
"We batted very well. With 230 on the board you're not going to lose many in this league. But with the weather it was difficult to bowl them out.
"We've still got to play Worfield. They're strong favourites and it'll be a big game, but we've just got to focus on our own game and get as many points as possible."
Jamie Wear (49) and David Laird (34) also made useful contributions with the bat as Reman posted a competitive total of 233 after 47 overs.
Shane Gwilt and Alex Johnson spearheaded the Reman attack with five wickets between them, as St Georges closed their innings on 177-6.
Meanwhile, in-form Worfield further cemented their position at the top of the league table with victory over Wem.
Gagandeep Singh was the star of the show with a five-wicket haul as he ripped through the Wem batting line-up leaving the visitors all-out for just 128.
Will Cook (43) and Tom Pickerill (53) top-scored for Worfield in reply as the home side comfortably chased down Wem's target in 40 overs.
Albrighton's relegation woes continue after they suffered a resounding eight-wicket defeat away at Frankton.
Bowler Harry Stow struck five times with the ball for Frankton, as they dismissed Albrighton for a measly 102 after 44 overs.
Only Ismail Anwar (55) could muster a double-figure score for the visitors, who have failed to register a win in nearly a month.
