The London Road men came out on top of a rain-affected clash with Brockhampton by six wickets.

They join Barnt Green, Kidderminster, Knowle & Dorridge and Walmley on 40 points at the top of the early standings.

Brockhampton batted first and, with the weather interrupting proceedings, their innings ended with them on 149-3 from 27.2 overs.

Mike Barnard was the pick of the Shrewsbury attack as he bagged 2-19 from seven overs.

Shrewsbury were then given a Duckworth-Lewis revised target of 180 to win in 24 overs.

Wellington celebrate as Walsall's James Middleton is out.

Wellington slipped to defeat in a run-laden clash with pre-season Division One title favourites Walsall.

The hosts had been 0-2 after Anthony O'Connor (3-19) struck twice and then 19-3.

James Middleton (72) and David Powles (33) repaired the damage with a century partnership, before Adam Byram (3-31) and Wendall Wagner (2-81) checked their progress.

They made a good fist of the chase early on with Henry Bartlett (72), Wagner (47), Jamie Miller (45) and Neil Edwards (38) in the runs.

But Staffordshire spinner Paul Byrne ended Wellington's charge with a five-wicket haul, as they were dismissed for 245.

Worcestershire and England under-19s star Clarke (104) struck his second century of the season, while Johnson plundered 100 to help Oswestry post 311-6.

James Ralph's side were emphatic nine-wicket winners at home to Brewood.

The visitors made a brisk start and had reached 40-0 but were then left reeling by a dramatic collapse, that saw them slump to 70-8 in the face of some impressive Bridgnorth bowling.

A ninth-wicket stand of between Jamie Lunn (47) and Dan Smith (43) offered Brewood some hope, as they recovered to post 161.

Dale Quiney was the pick of the Bridgnorth attack with 3-31 while Toby Hughes, Sam Whitney and Dave Exall all picked up two wickets.
