Whitchurch beat the drop in Division Three
An opening stand of 92 between Ed Watson-Jones (57) and Maz Hasnain (43) helped Whitchurch defy the drop in the Birmingham & District League Division Three.
The Heath Road outfit had gone into the final day of the campaign still not certain of survival.
But they plundered 195-8 in an innings reduced to 30 overs despite the best efforts of bowler Abubakr Pervaiz (5-28).
A knock of 44 from Gavin Shephard and 42 from his brother Stuart then helped Kings Heath to 93-2, before a collapse to 167 all out with one ball remaining secured Whitchurch a 28-run victory.
At the other end of the table, Worfield finished third while condemning Astwood Bank to relegation with a five-wicket triumph away from home.
If Worfield had produced their end of season form at the start, they would have been real title contenders.
And were probably not the side that Astwood Bank would have chosen to meet in their quest for survival.
Bowlers Gagandeep Singh (4-34) and Patrick Butler (4-33) combined to dismiss Astwood Bank for 124 before Will Cook (38) and Dan Plank (35) steered Worfield to victory.
Champions Shrewsbury travelled to Kidderminster with a much-changed side from last week's win over Walmley, which secured them the Premier Division title.
They were beaten by 57 runs against a side that has excelled in the 50-over format.
Nathan Round (118) held the innings together as Craig Wood (65) and Neil Pinner (54) played shots all around the wicket, taking Kidderminster to 317-8 after 50 overs.
A bright start by Steve Leach (65) and Ed Foster (40) at more than a run a ball offered Shrewsbury hope.
But, apart from Ed Barnard (54), the rest of the order fell away until William Davies (31 not out) gave the Shrewsbury total some respectability as they finished on 260-9.
In Division One, Wellington finished third-from-bottom after an eight wicket defeat at Bromsgrove, while already-relegated Oswestry lost by 94 runs at Barnard's Green.
