Talented trio off to the Bunbury festival
Three talented teenage cricketers from Shropshire are hoping to land a place in the prestigious Bunbury Festival.
Xavier Clarke, (Llanfillin High School & Oswestry CC),Daniel Humes (Shrewsbury School), and Mitchell Stanley (Idsall & Shifnal CC) have all been involved in this winter's Midlands Under-15 training programme at Shrewsbury School.
They are attempting to win a place in the Midlands squad that will take on the best young cricketers from across the country in what will be the 30th Bunbury Festival.
Radley College, whose former students include ex-England captain Andrew Strauss, host this year's competition.
Trials/assessment days will be ongoing throughout the first part of the summer until the final trial at Shrewsbury School at the end of June.
The 14-man squad will then play warm up games against the Worcestershire Academy and England Women before the Festival later in July.
