Shrewsbury's Ed Foster ditches the gloves
A Shrewsbury side inspired by former captain Ed Foster blitzed Kidderminster in the Birmingham & District League Premier Division by nine wickets.
Foster, who normally keeps wicket, took off the pads in order to bowl, and he claimed 4-14 from 11.1 overs to help bowl the visitors out for a paltry 89.
He then hit an unbeaten 61 with the bat as he and Oliver Westbury (26 not out) eased Shrewsbury to their first win in five league games.
Third-bottom Shrewsbury are now just nine points behind Kidderminster.
Bridgnorth also picked up a welcome 20 points in Division One, racing to a seven-wicket win over Himley with 16 overs left.
Himley put on 111 for their opening stand before reaching 256-7, but this was eclipsed by Bridgnorth openers David Exall (77) and James Ralph (72), who made 157.
Simon Gregory hit 46 before Mark Macpherson-Lees (27 no) and Charlie Morris (19 no) eased them over the line. Dan Vernon took 5-67 for Bridgnorth.
They are now just one point behind Wellington, who lost to Moseley by three wickets. Wellington were bowled out for 155 but even though Bhargav Merai took 5-37, Moseley recovered from 25-3.
Shifnal climbed up to joint-second in Division Two of the Birmingham League with a seven-wicket win at Oswestry.
Jack McIver and David Woollatt each took three wickets to help bowl the hosts out for 134.
It came before an unbeaten 64 from Shropshire captain Steve Leach and a punishing 34 not out from Chris Murrall in just 15 balls gave Shifnal all 20 points.
It leaves them on 152 points alongside Harborne, just 15 behind leaders Tamworth.
Up next is a crucial home match against Old Elizabethans, who are 20 points back in fourth.
In Division Three, Whitchurch remain rooted to the bottom of the table thanks to an 84-run defeat at Brewood.
Although Whitchurch took three run-outs in the hosts' innings, Brewood finished on 227-7 which proved too much for the visitors, who were dismissed for just 143. Sam Ellis top scored with 36.
Newport's Indian Premier League star Rajat Bhatia took 6-45, as third-placed Pershore were bowled out for 226.
The chase was going well when Newport were 124-4 thanks to Craig Atherton (55) and Mark Downes (43 no) putting on 87 for the fifth wicket.
But they quickly fell to 146 all out after Neil Hembrow (4-3) was introduced to the Pershore attack.
Third-bottom Worfield lost by six wickets to second-placed Astwood Bank. James Parker top scored for Worfield with 37 as they were bowled out for 140.
