Antony Barrett top scored with 59 and opener Luke Adcock weighed in with 31, while Ben Byram claimed 3-36 and Ben Miller 3-25.

But it was with the ball where Forton were at their most ruthless. No St Georges batsman scored more than Chris Waldron's 30.

Captain Matt Sayers (3-16) and Luke Adcock (3-23) ripped through the visitors as they were dismissed for just 71 in 23.1 overs.

Victory lifted Forton up to second bottom, 16 points ahead of Bomere Heath.

Leaders Sentinel continue to set the pace after beating Ludlow by 47 runs to sit nine points clear of Quatt.

The Shrewsbury side amassed 242-9 thanks to Australian overseas player Elliot Hitchen, who hit 64, and Connor Cheshire (35), while Bryan Leighton took 3-41.

In reply, some tight bowling from Joe Yapp, who claimed 5-43, restricted Ludlow to 195 all out in 45.2 overs, despite the efforts of captain Will Sparrow, who hit 86.

Quatt remain hot on the heels of Sentinel in second after defeating Madeley by 10 wickets – and it was as much down to the losers' failure to keep up with the Joneses.

Batting first after losing the toss, Madeley were routed by Gareth Jones and Craig Jones, who took 4-21 and 5-19 respectively to dismiss them for just 71 in the 28th over.

Barbados overseas player Jeremy Marshall their top run maker with just 18. Quatt reached their target in the 20th over, without losing a wicket.

It was thanks to opening pair Graham Yates (23) and Mick Wilkinson (35).

Wem are only eight points behind Quatt after beating Bomere Heath by four wickets.

Danny Cohen continued his recent fine form with 4-10 and Kerwin Mungroo took 3-28 to restrict the villagers to 61 all out in the 30th over.

Wem achieved their run chase in just 19 overs with stand-in captain Matt Cohen hitting a quickfire 29, while Chris Stevens took 3-29 and Sam Bloor weighed in with 3-28.

Broseley's Kieran Osborne returned from holiday to produce one of the best bowling displays of the season.

The pace man, who was back from two weeks in Turkey and had only taken five wickets all season prior to Saturday, rattled through Frankton's batting order with 8-20.

His seven-over spell restricted Frankton to 124 all out in 41 overs in reply to Broseley's 180 in 44.1 overs in a 56-run win.

Captain Jonathan Lloyd said: "Kieron produced a devastating spell after just coming back from holiday.

"I think he was a bit annoyed that he wasn't thrown the ball until the fifth change on the card, but he gave me a wake-up call that he wasn't happy bowling there.

"He's not as quick as our overseas (Charl Cyster) but he bowled very straight and very accurately and he was sharp enough.

"Of the five he clean bowled, three were yorkers, one was caught behind and the other two were caught at mid-on and mid-off.

"We'd been hoping for more from him but I couldn't ask for any more than that."

Cricket runs in the Osborne family, as Kieran's father Steven played for Broseley and his uncle David Osborne played for Worcestershire seconds and Bridgnorth.

Michael Eckard (32) and Jordan Parry (38) were Frankton's main scorers. Opener Nadeem Ahmad (50) and Cyster (65) propelled Broseley's innings, which was checked by Jacob Northwood's 4-26.

Albrighton are sixth after beating Shelton by 94 runs. Australian Tyson Bray opened with a steady 56, assisted by Iain Anderson, who top scored with 69 as Albrighton closed on 247-9.

Rob Law then set about dismantling Shelton with 5-29 and Ben Novis 3-41, as the visitors were all out for 153.
