The Shrewsbury Road side beat basement side Forton by 63 runs in a low-scoring game.

Batting first, Bomere reached a modest 143 all out in the 40th over with Llyr Thomas hitting a rapid 45 off 40 balls and Matt Whitley a more patient 34.

Chris Sayers was in sensational form with the ball, taking 6-29.

But Sayers' side had no such luck with the bat, shot out for a paltry 80 in the first ball of the 35th over.

No one mustered more than opener Ross Barton's 20 as Andy McIlroy kept a firm check on the innings with 4-17.

Sentinel are 21 points clear after beating Frankton by 78 runs.

The leaders put on 180 in 44.3 overs thanks in part to Connor Cheshire with 48 not out and captain Ed Ashlin (35), while Michael Eckard claimed a highly impressive 3-9 off eight overs.

David Laird was in ruthless form to help scatter the reply with 5-37 while Alex Johnson took 3-46 as Frankton were all out for 102.

Wem are 21 points behind Sentinel in second place after their latest victory, this time by 54 runs over Broseley.

Stand-in captain Matt Cohen made 52 and Russell Mellings 43 as Wem closed on 187-7.

Broseley proved stubborn opponents and victory wasn't clinched until 13 balls to spare when they were dismissed for 133.

Gavin Jones top scored with 51 and Muhammed Zaheer chipped in with 31, while Kerwin Mungroo claimed 3-20 and Evan Limerick a handy 2-9 from 11 balls.

Quatt lost ground in the title race and remain third, 35 points off the top following a narrow one-wicket defeat to Albrighton, which was described as a great advert for win-lose cricket.

Batting first, Quatt put on 242-8 with Craig Harris making 58, Terry Hughes 51 and Craig Jones 30, the wickets spread around.

Nine down, Albrighton clinched victory with just three balls to spare after Iain Anderson (62) and opener Tyson Bray (35) made headway, with Jonathan Edwards claiming 3-53.

Albrighton captain Jason Summers said: "It was a really good game played in the right spirit and a great advert for win-lose cricket.

"Even if you concede 300 runs, you have to go for it because there are no draw points on offer."

Summers admitted he wasn't convinced his side were going to chase down the total.

He said: "I wouldn't say I was always confident, but towards the end I was and we just managed to get there.

"We weren't too pleased with the way we bowled – there were too many wides and we thought we'd conceded 20 or 30 runs too many.

"But it was a good, flat pitch with a quick, fast outfield so it was always a get-able total. We just had to apply ourselves and, luckily, a couple did and we got there.

"There were a couple who contributed decent scores – Iain's was a match-winning innings – and everyone seemed to chip in around them."

Ludlow beat Shelton by 84 runs to retain fourth spot in a high-scoring affair.

Jack Griffiths smashed 90 off 70 balls and opener Sean Edwards made 72, as Ludlow piled up 279-5 at the close of their 50 overs.

Unbeaten totals of 34 from Luke Miles and a quick 19 from Glen Whitaker helped push the innings along with the wickets spread around.

Ben Matthews hit 108 including 12 boundaries, as Shelton posted 195 and were dismissed on the fourth ball of the 45th over.

Miles did his best to restrict them with 3-20, while Matthews was assisted by Ben Roberts with 31.

In the other Premier Division game, Madeley beat St Georges by 21 runs.

Despite Barbados overseas player Jeremy Marshall hitting 51, he had little support, apart from number 10 Martin Boyle's 36 not out.

Four players failed to score and Madeley could only rack up 145, to be dismissed after 48.3 overs. Joshua Fransman took 4-13 with six maidens, while Ben Miller took 3-15.

However, St Georges had similar problems at the crease and were all out for 124 thanks in part to Martin Boyle's 3-25, despite 50 for Matt Chesters.
