Whitney is eager to see more fight from his side.

The Cricket Meadow men, who host Tamworth tomorrow, have lost their opening two matches.

Skipper Whitney admits the more experienced members of his side need to help out the youngsters.

“We are a bit depleted with losing a couple of players and not being able to fill the gaps,” he said.

“There’s a few kids come in but the jump from second team to first team is massive.

“They young lads are struggling to make an impact and the more experienced players have extra pressure to get us points.

“But we have got to show a bit of fight because our heads went down last week (in the defeat to Smethwick).

“Everyone knows it’s going to be a difficult season but we can’t just let it happen, we have got to do something about it.”

Bridgnorth will have Matt Martin available for the first time this season but Tom Weaver and Si Gregory are unavailable.

Bowler Charlie Morris is also out after injuring his ankle on the opening day of the season.

“We’d hoped to have him for four games. Without him we don’t really have a strike bowler,” added Whitney.
