Bridgnorth chasing a hat-trick
Mark MacPherson-Lees will take over captaincy duties as Bridgnorth bid for a third straight Birmingham League Division One win.
The Cricket Meadow men host Moseley on the back of victories over Wellington and Leamington.
Skipper Sam Whitney is at brother Tom’s wedding so Macpherson-Lees will lead the side.
Matt Martin, Dave Exall and Cam Wallis are back but Dan Kearsley and Sam’s other brother Jono, the star last week after returning from Australia for the wedding, are unavailable.
Wellington have Samit Gohli back for the visit of Bromsgrove. He suffered a fractured finger in the first game of the season but has been given the go-ahead to return.
Committe chairman Simon Topper said: “It will be a boost to us both in the batting department and he can bowl a bit of off-spin too.
“In the first game he got 60-odd and he scored a lot in pre-season too, so we hope he will make a difference.
“You have to get the Bromsgrove top four out quickly or you could be chasing some, and the wicket at Wellington has been playing well for the batsmen this year.” Shifnal will name the same side that beat Attock to face leaders Smethwick at home.
Division Three table-toppers Newport face the first of a double header against their nearest rivals. They host Stratford-Upon-Avon and go to third-placed Stourbridge next week.
Ian Gillespie, Ryan Jakeman and Nick Watkins are unavailable but Ed Fowler, Craig Atherton and Jamie Micklewright come into contention.
“We’ve started well but we are not getting carried away,” insisted skipper Mark Downes.
Mid-table Sentinel make the trip to struggling Handsworth.
