Shrewsbury skittle Walsall for 32
Shrewsbury cantered to a nine-wicket victory against Walsall at London Road after skittling the visitors for just 32.
The Shropshire side made it seven wins from eight Premier Division games after knocking off the target in just 4.4 overs.
Leaders Shrewsbury lost the toss to Walsall, who promptly elected to bat and collapsed in 20.3 overs, mainly down to Mike Barnard (4-15) and Sam Griffiths (3-13) who cashed in on some fragile batting.
No-one registered double figures for the shell-shocked visitors with James Middleton and Billy-J Cox – with six – their top scorers on an afternoon to forget.
Shrewsbury are seven points clear of Knowle & Dorridge at the summit.
In Division Two, Oswestry’s Warrick Fynn hit his fourth century of the season in seven innings as his side maintained their fantastic start to the season with a 35-run victory at Penkridge.
Fynn carried his bat throughout the innings for 107 in a total of 224-8, an innings that was notable for an opening stand of 59 between Fynn and Joe Carrasco and an eighth wicket stand of 65 between Fynn and Charlie Morris (33).
Rizwan Gulzar took 3-48 for Penkridge who were bowled out for 189 despite 63 from Rana Hassan and 41 from Michael Hartwell.
Fynn’s outstanding performance was matched by Sadaf Hussein who took 7-50 - who ended up on the losing side despite his heroics with the ball.
Oswestry’s win was their seventh from eight so far, and the Morda Road club are 19 points clear at the top of the table.
