Game set to honour Shropshire's John Bennett
Shropshire Gents’ Cricket Club will be celebrating the great contribution John Bennett has made to cricket in the county with a special day at Shrewsbury School tomorrow.
It will also mark John’s 90th birthday with the playing of the inaugural fixture for the newly-commissioned John Bennett Cup between a Gents’ XI and the Shropshire CCC development side.
The game will start at 11.30am.
His many roles have included stints as chairman and president of Shropshire Cricket Board.
