Aston Villa's Esri Konsa’s a man in big demand
Ezri Konsa looks set to have to make a decision on his international future with both England and Portugal monitoring his progress.
The 23-year-old, who joined Villa from Brentford for £12million in 2019, has shone at the heart of the defence for Dean Smith’s side this season.
Konsa has featured regulary for England at youth level. He was part of the Three Lion’s side that won the under-20 World Cup in 2017. He has also won seven under-21 caps.
Villa’s Tyrone Mings has already become an England international under manager Gareth Southgate.
And it is understood the boss is now considering giving Konsa his first senior call-up next month. But it has also emerged the centre-back has relatives that make him eligible to play for Portugal. Konsa also qualifies for DR Congo and Angola via his parents.
As well as being in demand internationally, Konsa also has a growing list of admirers in the Premier League.
And according to reports, both Liverpool and Tottenham are considering lodging bids for him in the summer.
