New head of football operations Ian Pearce, promoted from his role of head of recruitment in a reshuffle this summer, is tasked alongside head coach Carlos Corberan in finding value and young, hungry talent looking to progress from the lower leagues.

Pearce said this summer that last season's addition of Brandon Thomas-Asante from League Two Salford is 'an example' of signings Albion will look to copy this summer.

Albion are mainly hunting free agents and loans this summer. Spending is possible though, on smaller fees, should sufficient funds be raised through player sales.

The Express & Star has looked into some of the top performers from League One and League Two, and a couple belonging to clubs further up, and what they could possibly bring to The Hawthorns in part one below with a second part to the article coming later this week.

Winger Fosu, 27, plays on the left flank, a position Albion are understood to be looking to recruit this summer.

The Ghana international is currently a free agent after being released by Premier League Brentford.

He has previously lit up lower-league football with Charlton and Oxford and had a Championship loan spell with Rotherham last season. It is thought he is set to move to the second tier this summer.
