The Derby wideman has been a big hit at the New Bucks Head since joining on loan in August.

He completed his spell with the Bucks with an impressive performance in yesterday's 0-0 draw at Nuneaton and now goes back to Pride Park.

Telford boss Andy Sinton is keen to extend the loan but Mills is determined to give himself every opportunity to step up a couple of divisions.

"I just want to play at the highest level I can," said the 20-year-old, whose Derby contract expires at the end of this season.

"I'm not saying I'm better than Telford and I'm not saying I'm better than this league. I just want to try and push myself and make a living higher up in the game.

"It's been so hard telling Andy I don't want to stay," he added.

"Apparently scouts have been coming to watch since I've been here so I know that if I do get a League club then Telford have helped me on my way.

"I hope I get a League club but if I don't then I'll speak to Andy again I'm sure he'll sort something out with Derby."

Meanwhile, Sinton hailed a spirited performance by his side at Nuneaton, insisting he wasn't concerned by a second game without a goal after producing the same result against Stafford Rangers on New Year's Day.

"I think we saw two of the best teams in the division yesterday two teams who don't just hammer it from back to front," said Sinton.

"Anyone who watched that game would have looked at Telford and said we're a good side.

"At the moment we're not having the rub of the green but we've got to be a little bit more ruthless.

"The time I'll worry is when we're not creating anything."
