Tom Bradley surprised by AFC Telford breakthrough
Teenage AFC Telford midfielder Tom Bradley has been surprised at making the step up from youth to first-team this season.
But the delighted 18-year old has been relishing his recent exposure to senior football and is aiming to soak up as many minutes as he can before end of the season.
Bradley is one of three youth-team players – along with James O'Neill and Jake Bennett – to have been called up in recent weeks by Bucks caretaker boss John Psaras.
The youngster was an unused substitute for both the trip to Lincoln and the home game against Nuneaton.
But he realised an ambition on Easter Monday when he made his competitive debut at Forest Green, replacing Nathan Rooney for the final 25 minutes of a 0-0 draw.
And he added a second appearance on Saturday in the 2-0 defeat to Darford, replacing Steven Leslie with 22 minutes remaining.
He said: "I have been with the club since I was nine and it has always been an ambition to play for the first-team.
"When I started the season I didn't expect to be in the first-team squad at the end of it.
"My aim is now just to stay in the squad until the end of the season and get some minutes."
Bradley admitted the step up has been a big one to bridge but he feels confident he can adapt to playing at the higher level.
He said: "I have found it a lot harder stepping up but I think, once I adapt to it, I will be alright."
