Bucks challenged to share the scoring burden
AFC Telford assistant boss Dominic Morley has called on the rest of the club's forwards to step up and help top-scorer Adam Farrell.
The 23-year-old's strike in last weekend's 2-2 draw at North Ferriby put him on 10 for the season.
Telford's next highest scorers are Tony Gray and midfielder Sean Clancy, who have scored six goals each. The Bucks are the seventh-highest scorers in the Skrill North but Morley believes it is an area they can improve.
"Adam has been doing well and he's been leading the line well," he said.
"It's the first time he has stepped up to this level and he's having a good first season. To be honest we could probably do with a few more chipping in with the goals.
"Adam is into double figures now, but ideally we could do with a few more getting to that stage. It's probably one area where we are a little bit short."
Farrell was snapped up by Telford last summer after boss Liam Watson saw him playing for AFC Fylde, where he hit 17 goals in last year's Northern Premier League. Morley has been impressed with how the hitman has handled the step up in class.
"It is a jump up in standard for a player, but he has been impressive," he said. "He's a nice lad and has a good attitude too so he is only likely to get better."
The third-placed Bucks are now preparing for Saturday's home game with Guiseley as they look to make up ground on top two North Ferriby and Hednesford.
Their opponents currently lie 10th in the table following a 1-0 Tuesday night defeat to Barrow, but have four games in hand on most of the division and could move into the top five if they win their games in hand.
For Morley, this makes them dangerous opponents.
"I think Guiseley are in a bit of a false position," he said. "They are a much better side than 10th place would suggest and if they win their games in hand will be right up there.
"It's so tight in the top half of the division. We just have to try and put a run together ourselves.
"We're happy with the squad at present and not really looking to bring anyone else in. If we do make any moves it will likely be a loan."
