Neill Byrne the latest injury at AFC Telford
AFC Telford United will ring the changes for tonight's friendly at Shawbury United - with Neill Byrne the latest defender to pick up an injury.
Byrne hurt his ankle in Tuesday's 1-1 draw at home to Wolves and is waiting for the swelling to go down, although the problem is not serious.
But the Irishman will not be risked at the Butler Sports Centre, joining fellow stopper Rod McDonald for a temporary spell on the sidelines with the same injury.
Steve Akrigg will be rested tonight, too, leaving the Bucks without a recognised centre-half at Shawbury, so midfielder Mike Grogan and striker Andy Owens could team up.
All on display will be first-team players, though, as manager Liam Watson's only options since the club's under-18 was scrapped this summer.
Youngster Moubarak Moumouni will get his chance to impress tonight, but fellow trialist Godfrey Poku will next figure in the visit of Middlesbrough on Saturday.
Manager Liam Watson said: "We have only got the squad, but there's one or two who won't be involved. 'Byrney' has got a bit of a knock on his ankle.
"I can't see Steve Akrigg playing, either, as we are building him up and he had 90 minutes on Tuesday night. But you can see he's getting better.
"Both Mike Grogan and Andy Owens can play at centre-half, if we go that way. Different shapes and formations give us an idea of where we are all up to."
Telford will be expected to prevail against a side some five divisions below them in the non-league pyramid, in a reverse of last year's Shropshire Senior Cup.
Watson has already been left embarrassed by last weekend's 3-1 defeat at lower-league Witton Albion and while, not overly concerned, is looking for a result.
He said: "I am not bothered whether it's Wolves or Shawbury, as long as the players coming through without picking up any knocks.
"You don't get anything for winning a game in pre-season, you only pick up points for that first match on August 9 at Welling United.
"It's just about us and what we do, but I can assure that we don't want to be left red-faced like at Witton last week. I was furious after that.
"You can't pick and choose the games you turn up for, you should want to play every time. If players don't perform, they will be out of the team."
