The club called time on Watson's 19 month reign after yesterday's 1-1 FA Trophy draw at home to Chester, with the team bottom of the Conference Premier.
Watson had led the club to their first league title in 62 years last May, with the Bucks bouncing back to non-league's top flight at the first attempt by finishing first in Conference North.
It also made him the first manager to win three Conference North titles and he retains his record of never bringing a team down from the Premier.
