Conference Premier-winning former Mansfield boss Paul Cox and ex-Hereford United chief Martin Foyle have applied for the manager's job at AFC Telford.

Former Bucks defender Greg Fee is also among dozens to have applied for the job in the days following Liam Watson's sacking on Saturday.

Cox , who won the Conference Premier title with Mansfield in 2013, and Foyle were first linked with the job yesterday. And the Shropshire Star can today reveal that both have applied for the job.

Fee, 50, also put in an application over the weekend. He played for AFC Telford's now-defunct predecessor Telford United in the early 2000s.

And Fee, who is currently working in the recruitment department at Premier League Everton, confirmed he has applied for the job following Liam Watson's sacking on Saturday.

The ex-Sheffield Wednesday man has limited managerial experience, having taken the reins at Boston United from 1996 to 1998 and then briefly at Gainsborough Trinity.

But he has remained in football in other capacities since then, working at several academies, including Sheffield Wednesday where he was a senior coach.

He has also worked with the England C team and Fee believes he has the necessary contacts to help improve the Bucks quickly.

Fee said: "I think I have got a lot to offer. The new manager needs to work with the existing players and try to get more out of them but, obviously, he also needs to recruit better players.

"And I have got a lot of people in and around the lower echelons of the Football League and that have worked in the Football Conference that are prepared to help try to get better players into the club.

" I believe I would establish a great coaching and recruitment team at the club, which would enable it to progress away from its current problems.

"In the longer term, they could push towards the higher echelons of the Football Conference."

One popular name that fans have mentioned in the last few days is Solihull Moors manager Marcus Bignot.

The 40-year-old ex-Queens Park Rangers defender began his career with the Bucks in 1992 and his team are currently in the Conference North play-off places.

But asked about fans' speculation, Bignot said: "I am flattered by the link, but there has been no approach."
